SOLOMOS FRANGOULIDES (1902-1981)

Born in Pano Zodia. 

He received his elementary education at Zodia and then attended the Pancyprian Gymnasium in Nicosia. 

He taught at Ambelikou village from 1921 until 1924, at which time he was accepted at the School of Fine Arts in Athens, from where he graduated in 1930. 

The following year sees his return to Cyprus and is commissioned to paint the icons of the Church of the Virgin at Argos village. 

In 1934 he returns to Greece,m accepting a teacher's post at the Sivitanidios School in Athens. later, he worked at the Benakion Museum as a designer for the museum's catalogues.

In 1936 he holds his first exhibition in the Parnassos Great Hall while also working for ĞEleftheri Elladağ newspaper until 1947, when he returns to settle permanently in In 1972 he receives the Silver Medal in the Biennale of Religious Art in Italy. 

He died in Nicosia in December 1981, havibf donated his work to the Greek Public.
